Our team at Somos Mirada is made up of a select group of specialists in ophthalmology and oculoplastic surgery. We share a common vision: to provide quality, patient-centered medical care based on the latest scientific evidence. We strive to stay at the forefront of the latest technologies and surgical techniques to ensure the best possible outcomes for our patients.
OUR TEAM
Dr. Martin H. Devoto is an ophthalmologist and oculoplastic surgeon. After finishing his residency in ophthalmology, he validated his medical degree in the United States and in 1995 and 1996 was a clinical-surgical fellow at the University of Cincinnati, where he trained in eyelid, tear duct and orbital surgery.
Since 1995 he has been a member of the Consultores Oftalmológicos team, where he leads Somosmirada, the oculoplastic Unit.
He was a consultant in orbitopalpebral oncology at the Angel Roffo Oncology Institute, University of Buenos Aires, where he worked from 2005 to 2015 in the reconstruction of periocular cancer.
He has delivered nearly 300 lectures at national and international congresses, and published more than 40 scientific papers in international journals.
He was one of the authors of the American Academy of Ophthalmology study guides for United States residents, and has been teaching at that institution since 2000.
He has received two important awards from this institution: in 2008, the Achievement Award, presented to him for his contributions as an author, course instructor and member of educational material writing committees, and in 2007, the International Ophthalmology Education Award, given in recognition of international members of the American Academy of Ophthalmology who keep up to date throughout their lives.
Dr. Devoto is a member of the Argentine Society of Ophthalmology, the Argentine Council of Ophthalmology, the Pan-American Association of Ophthalmology, the American Academy of Ophthalmology, the American Society of Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, the American Society of Ocularists and the Orbital Society.
Since 1999 he has participated in Orbis International, United States, as a visiting professor, providing assistance and teaching in underprivileged countries of the world. Since 2009 he collaborates with FuSaVi, offering free care to low-income patients in Argentina.

Verónica completed her studies as a surgical instrument technician in 1998 at the “Ramos Mejía” Acute Care Hospital in the City of Buenos Aires.
She then trained as a professional in different private institutions specializing in plastic surgery
Her training in ophthalmology was acquired in major centers of reference in the City of Buenos Aires, such as Oftalmos, Charles Eye Center.
Since 2015 she has been a part of the team at Consultores Oftalmológicos, where, due to her experience in the different roles she has had within the Oculoplastic Service she is currently the General Coordinator of Somos Mirada.
She has taken part in several conferences in ophthalmology congresses. In 2019, together with surgical instrument technician Mariana Seren, was the coordinator of the Surgical Instrumentation Course with Specialization in Ophthalmology within the Joint Ophthalmology Congress in the province of Cordoba.
