ENDOSCOPIC BROW LIFT (MIVEL)

The eyebrows are a very important part of the upper third of the face, because their shape and location determine the amount of skin that the patient has in the upper eyelids. When the eyebrows are lowered, a greater amount of skin is observed, which gives the appearance of tiredness or aging. Some people may have a drooping in the lateral area of the eyebrows, which can give an appearance of sadness. In the past, eyebrow lift surgeries consisted of an incision from one ear to the other to produce upward traction. Today we can perform this surgery through 5 small incisions with the help of an endoscope (endoscopic lifting), and reposition the eyebrows to the desired height and shape. This access allows us to correct the lateral angles of the eyes and support the cheekbones.
Is this operation painful?
This procedure is performed with cardiac monitoring and intravenous sedation under the care of an anesthesiologist. A controlled dose of sedatives is administered to ensure that the patient does not feel any pain. We prescribe painkillers for the first 48 hours as a preventive measure against pain.
It is common for endoscopic lifting to be combined with blepharoplasty, although the exact indication depends on each patient, their examination and their expectations.
Usually the patient is asked to allow for two weeks with few obligations. The first three days should be spent applying cold compresses and resting. It is usual for vision to be blurred during the first week. Sports can be resumed after 2 weeks.
